The biking community is a tight-knit group bound by the shared love for the open road and the freedom it represents. When one of our own passes on, it leaves an indelible mark on our hearts. This is especially true for those who have significantly contributed to this community. One such individual was Dave Myer of the Hairy Bikers. His passing has left a void that can never be filled, but his memory lives on in every ride we take. To honour his legacy, an event has been organised on Sunday, 7th of April 2024 - 'Memorial Ride Out For Dave Myer Of The Hairy Bikers'.
Who Was Dave Myer?
Dave Myer was not just another biker; he was an icon in the biking community. Known as one of the Hairy Bikers, he was famous for his love for motorcycles, food, and travel. He combined these passions into a successful television series that took viewers on culinary adventures around the world from the back of a bike.
His infectious enthusiasm and genuine love for life were contagious, inspiring countless individuals to embrace their passions and live life to the fullest. His sudden passing has left us all in shock and grief, but his spirit continues to inspire us.

Attendee Briefing and Rules
By attending the event, you are agreeing that you have read the following briefing prior to the event and agree to the following rules:-
Number 2 is to have a great ride out!
We want you all to meet new friends and enjoy the ride, the bikes and the stunning countryside we will be travelling through.
If you are arriving at Saturday marketplace Beverley, please park your vehicle facing in the direction of the north bar or as instructed by the marshals and be prepared for a prompt 10-30am departure.
By participating in this event, you declare that your vehicle is in safe working and legal condition. If you know of any defects impairing your vehicle, please do not attend. If you are unsure, please ask a marshal to assess your vehicle.
We will ride just under the designated speed limit for each road we travel on. Always Ride within your limits but also try to keep up with the convoy. If you can’t keep up, please indicate left and pull over when it is safe. Rejoin at the back when the other bikes have passed to avoid separating the convoy.
a) Experienced marshalls will be stopping traffic to keep everyone safe. You must continue to follow the convoy at all times through junctions UNLESS you are obstructing an emergency vehicle or a marshal stops you.
b) No overtaking is permitted unless a vehicle in front pulls over to stop. Please remain in the same lane as the convoy. Please be aware marshals will be trying to pass. They will pass you on your right hand side to get to the front. Please do not obstruct their passage. Just because you are in a convoy doesn’t mean you don’t check your mirrors!
c) Please ride in a staggered position, don’t tailgate, and allow an appropriate distance between yourself and the vehicle in front.
We prefer that recordings of the ride not be published/distributed on any social media platform to protect people's personal details and registration plates. Any recordings are for your own record. Please consider that the vehicle occupants in front of you might not want recordings of them or their vehicle published/distributed without their permission and may use them against you. Anyone who does distribute any footage takes full responsibility for their actions.
When we arrive, please park in an orderly fashion with your vehicle facing the road so you can easily exit.
